HONOR has announced that the Magic8 Pro is among the first devices to support Android 17 Beta 3 for developers, bringing a range of platform-level changes aimed at multitasking, media handling, privacy, and security.

Beta 3 significantly expands Bubbles so developers can opt apps into a system-wide floating-window workflow. Applications can be minimized to a floating icon and recalled from anywhere on the screen, enabling quicker context switching and keeping essential tools accessible while using other apps.
The update also adds deeper UI customization and media improvements. Developers can adjust the Photo Picker presentation by changing the grid view aspect ratio—for example from a 1:1 square to a 9:16 portrait view—while users gain the option to hide app labels for a cleaner home screen appearance.
